If fitness is a part of your daily schedule you have probably noticed the ambitious individuals who flood the gym in January and then drop off the face of the earth in February. These well intended people have set another lofty goal, but did not take the time to prepare themselves to succeed. In actuality their goal itself may have set them up to fail? According to www.quora.com the second week of January is the busiest time of the year for fitness facilities. They experience a 33%-50% increase in volume. Exactly one month later these same ambitious New Years Resolutioners drop off.
Preparing to Succeed
I believe you are setting yourself up for failure when you do not set a plan of action that is realistic! Without commitment you will never reach your goals!
Embrace fitness as a necessity rather than an obligation. Find ways to enjoy being active. Don’t run if you hate to run, dance if you love to dance, or walk around a park rather than your treadmill in the basement, etc.
Checking your motives is never a bad idea either. You can consider yourself doomed from the start if your motives are anything other than learning to live a healthy lifestyle.
Don’t eat the same thing over and over again. This gets boring and will make you want to quit! There are more than five healthy alternatives on the grocery shelves! Research how to make some of your favorite meals and substitute ingredients for healthier options. Chia seeds instead of eggs or almond milk instead of cow’s milk. Pizza is my favorite meal and I find a way to make it healthy and delicious!
Get Fighting Fit Challenge
For me I do better when I am challenged and accountable to someone else. This is why I value group fitness classes and having friends who share the same lifestyle. I have found it is easier to complete the race when I know I am not alone.

Fitness and Nutrition are important. Your body is a temple and it should be honored that way. If you do not value and respect your physical self you cannot expect others to show respect. Do yourself a favor and allow yourself to become who you were created to be. If you choose to fuel your body with nutrients and challenge your body to be resilient you will develop a more balanced life all around. A healthy life style can bring order to a chaotic lifestyle which in return will allow you to balance out your emotions, your relationships, and your goals.
